According to the composting method, compost turning machines can be divided into strip chopping type, trough type, and whole pile shifting type.
1. Strip chopping compost turning machine
Strip chopping compost turning machines can be divided into traction type and self-propelled type according to the walking mode: the traction type is powered by a tractor and is pulled by a tractor. It works on a long strip pile. It has a simple structure, low cost, and low maintenance cost, but it occupies a large area, has low site utilization, and has average composting capacity; the self-propelled type relies on its own power to compost. The driving mode can be divided into diesel drive and electric drive. This mode is flexible in operation, highly automated, has high composting, crushing and mixing functions, and has a large processing capacity, but the equipment investment is large and the maintenance cost is high. At present, the composting mode of domestic strip chopping composting machines is mainly straddling type. When working, the whole machine straddles the pre-stacked long strip pile, and the rotating knife shaft mounted under the frame turns the raw materials. It has been widely used in the composting of livestock and poultry manure and agricultural waste in small and medium-sized farms.
2. Trough type compost turning machine
The trough type compost turning machine is placed on the guide rail and moves along the guide rail. When working, the raw materials between the guide rails are turned, crushed and turned backwards by the rotating knife roller. Compared with the strip chopping type composting machine, the trough type composting machine has the advantages of small footprint, simple operation and large single processing volume. According to the working principle, the trough type composting machine can be divided into spiral type, drum type, chain plate type and tooth type.
3. Whole pile shifting compost turning machine
The whole pile shifting compost turning machine is divided into self-propelled type and traction type according to the walking mode. When the machine is working, the turning and throwing parts grab, crush and throw the materials from one side of the whole composting pile to the conveyor belt at the rear or one side, and then transport them to the other side of 3 to 4 meters by the conveyor belt, completing the process of cooling the materials, adjusting the moisture and fully contacting with oxygen. The whole-pile shifting and turning method is changed from trough-type and strip-type composting methods to overall composting methods. Under the conditions of the same scale of site, it increases the amount of composting, speeds up the material heating rate, and shortens the composting fermentation time. It is suitable for large-scale aerobic composting production enterprises of agricultural solid waste.
